Description: Project included planning, permitting and fast-track-design of new 12 MGD (24 MGD high rate) potable water filtration facilities, including: raw water intake on the Warrior River, raw water pumping station, 6 miles of 30" raw water transmission main, water filtration plant, finished water pumping station, 10 miles of 30" finished water transmission main and connections to the existing Bessemer water distribution system. The new water filtration plant includes rapid mixing, conventional sedimentation and rapid sand filtration systems, continuous solids removal and storage facilities, disinfection and finished water storage. Project also included administration space, including a laboratory, conference room, offices, locker rooms, maintenance shop, and emergency power generation.
