Description: The Opelika Utilities Board Administration Office is just one of the facilities under construction at the new 11-acre Saugahatchee Lake Complex. The facility includes a customer service and teller/bill payment area, a drive-thru, meeting and conference rooms, administrative offices, and support areas. The high-efficiency lighting design incorporates sunlight harvesting controls that reduce lighting requirements during daylight hours. High clerestory windows throughout the building provide natural daylighting for interior spaces. Exterior materials include natural stone, brick, aluminum glazing, and metal roofing. Roof structure is exposed wood decking and wood beams that provide high ceilings and natural materials for the interior. A standing seam metal roofing system installed over a 3" rigid insulation system provides a high degree of energy efficiency.
