Description: Based on a desire to consolidate county services in a convenient location for the more heavily populated section of the county, the Shelby County Commission built this 28,000 square foot building. The two-story structure houses offices for: License Tag Division, County Building Inspection Services, Planning and Zoning, Economic Development Office, Legislative Delegation Office, Mental Health Clinic and County 9-1-1 Service. Masonry, synthetic stucco and limestone are used in the construction of the exterior for durability and low maintenance. The building is designed to accommodate two additional floors.
